martha's vineyard

josh surprised me for my b-day last month with a day trip to martha's vineyard with the entire family + my bro. i have never been and was so excited to take in all the sites. we took the ferry from wood's hole in cape cod over to the island. josh had researched it and found that it would be easier to take our car over so that's what we did. he packed a huge cooler with all of our favorite things: izze, dancing deer sugar cane lime cookies, macaroni salad, strawberries, starbucks doubleshot in cans, baguette of french bread, shaved ham, and swiss cheese. the ferry let us off at oak bluffs. my brother had been there before so he helped us navigate. we drove around the island to get a feel of what it was like. we took lots of pictures when we got out and walked around in edgartown, menemsha, and gay head. the gingerbread cottages in oak bluffs, the clay cliffs in gay head, and the buzz from the starbucks doubleshot stick out in my memory.

sunday in the city

free parking in boston on sundays so we are all over that!! we found that if you head down before 10:30 am and pray to the parking gods you will find a spot. we headed downtown last month and really enjoyed the day walking around with the girls, taking pictures of cool landscape architecture, and packing a picnic to enjoy at the North End park. the girls got their toes wet in the water feature and josh and i were able to relax in the shade under a tree.
