catch up

hello there. i have missed you. the move was rough like most moves are. they rank high on the dislike list. like mosquitoes buzzing in your ear, contracting the flu, or having those dreams where your teeth are falling out. all you can think about is getting out of your current state.

josh and i did the packing and loading of two pods in newport the last week in june while my parents watched the girls and kept them busy with activites on the mid-coast of maine. we worked hard. physically hard. three hours of help from three professional movers who i don't know what we would have done without them. you know it's a bad moving week when you develop an eye twitch on your lower lid. when you google it the causes are: stress-check. increased caffeine intake-check. decrease of healthy foods-check. allergies-check. lack of sleep-check. all causes apply.

so off to a pod storage facility our belongings went the end of june and we have been living out of duffel bags and visiting family and friends in maine and ohio this july awaiting the closing of our house in the portland, maine area on august 1st.

the uncontrollable eye twitching stopped around july 3rd. being surrounded by people you love in beautiful natural surroundings helps. i feel like we have done more living in the moment and exploring this month. really listening to family and friends. more question asking. less structure and more going with the flow.

i have missed blogging this past month. it is a way for me to express myself. as trivial as the photos and little snips of writing are, they make me feel whole. so back at it i go.

love to you and i have missed you.

  1. Oh Molly. Moving causes all sorts of problems, including twitches. Someday when we meet, we can drink wine or tea and talk about it all.
So glad that you are back on line, I missed you. So glad that lost your twitch in the company of family and friends.
If you want to fill your time with a trip to Texas, give a shout. We will host you all.

  4. Glad you were able to relax a little after the harrowing experience of moving. Hopefully now you'll get to enjoy the settling in period, the time to organize and set things up exactly as you want them. A clean slate. As we enter Fall, that's always how I feel during that start-of-school time. Good luck!
