an eric carle book birthday party in the adirondacks

`
k+r love eric carle's colorful illustrations and charming books. their favorite is "the very hungry caterpillar". after i read it to them, they have to recite the day he ate all the junk food and got a stomach ache. they think it's a hoot. anyway, we took our family trip to the adirondacks recently and we thought it would be the perfect place to celebrate their 3rd birthday with all our family there. we made it an eric carle theme with some of his books to display. i try anyway i can to incorporate books and fun into the girls lives in hopes they enjoy reading as much as i do. we purchased some party supplies from the eric carle museum. i had the stripey yellow and white table cloth from fabric from ikea. and my sweet momma brought the most excellent cupcakes from a local baker in chagrin falls, ohio called sugar me.  it was low key event and we had so much fun hanging out with our family by blue mountain lake, laughing, watching the sunset, and eating lots of treats.

  1. Gorgeous party theme! my daughter just turned 5 and she still loves ' The very hungry caterpillar'. i have read to my kids since they were in my belly and both are ardent readers. Your daughters are so lucky...
