+ my aunt Joannie is the best baker. we go to their house @ once a month for dinner or to watch a game and when you walk into their house she always has the cooling racks on her counter filled with cookies or a freshly made cake that has been iced. some of my favorites are her monster molasses cookies and her sander's caramel cake.
+ i admire her entrepreneurial skills. she is a smart lady who is owner of boston biscotti. she also balances another job at j.crew with being a mom of two with style and grace.
+ whenever we go on day trips or meet up as a family she always has a large ziploc filled with her cocktail biscotti's. so after a day at the beach, her crunchy delights taste great with a cold beer.
+ she takes great care of herself with vitamins, exercising and soaking up the good things in life, which makes her look a lot younger than she really is.
+ i love that she's an early riser and she loves to do sudoko in the morning. we are usually the ones in the kitchen sipping coffee and talking when everyone else is sleeping.
+ she is always reading a new book, so i love to get book recommendations from her.
+ she has a huge notebook filled with all of her recipes. i love looking through it when i'm at their house. everything is orgazined and kept in such a neat way.
+ she and my uncle rob welcomed josh and i with open arms when we moved to the boston area. we lived with them for around a week before our sublet was available to move into. all the great meals, hospitality, and information about the area really helped us, and for that we are so grateful!
so for all these wonderful things that make my aunt joannie such a fabulous person, i wanted to wish her a very happy birthday!!
