on a much lighter note, we continued with our halloween plans because we were lucky to be unscathed by sandy. we had a pre trick-or-treating get together with friends at our house. because the storm hit on monday and tuesday we waited last minute to get our pumpkins decorated. i only had an hour to get them ready while the girls were at school and i thought making jack-o-lanterns might turn into a longer project than i wanted before the party. so i remembered happy mundane's post on spray painted pumpkins here. my pumpkins did not turn out as beautiful as his. usually the case when i try a DIY. but, i think it created more of a modern look. and i think the drips add a bit of a scary, eerie feel to them. no. if i were to do it again, i would use painters tape instead of the masking tape i had laying around the house.
